19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first title since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from March of that year.

The win also indicates the Russian has won 21 titles at twenty-one different tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my children together, so to get a title is particularly special," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.

His defensive play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.

However the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an better serving game.

He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his first tour victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.

The opponent saved 4 initial opportunities in a competitive final set before the champion broke to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
